Starting my cooking career in Singapore, I was given a position as a masterchef. Moving back to Malaysia, I indulged in several handcrafts, but meeting with hometaste was able to realign my passion for cooking. I have the ability to cater for more than hundred over people.

Chef Way was a top chef of 3 restaurants in Klang Valley, who has expertise in Cantonese cuisine since 15 years ago. Customers always give the best comment on his signature dishes, especially his Ginger Wine Chicken, Ginger Onion Chicken and Steam Pork with Salted Fish.

His attention to every detail and flavour makes the difference in his ginger wine chicken, as he cooks the sauce with his homemade yellow rice wine from his family’s recipe. For every dish he cooks, he would formulate his own unique sauces to give it that special taste.

100% fresh ingredients is always his benchmark of cooking, that’s one of the reasons he always pick the best ingredients from the fresh market early in the morning everyday. He switched to online food delivery as he believes that he can offer the best quality dishes for his consumers by increasing the accessibility instead of limiting it by physical restaurants. 

He has been invited to be one of the chefs during Chinese traditional festival, the “Nine Emperor Gods Festival“ where the best Chinese traditional cuisine is served to all of the prayers.

This chef takes pain to cook this meal as the chicken pieces are fresh and of reasonable sizes, the neatly cut black fungus and ginger slices and of course the wine. One in my whats app group was attracted to order this dish already. This is not a dish that you cook everyday but HOME TASTE makes this happen to us that we can order everyday!!! Ample of ingredients given - lots of meat, onion and ginger slices. Paired with half a portion of rice, it was very filling. A bit too salty for me, couldn't eat too much gravy. Loved the packaging using thick plastic container which I kept because it's hardy and reusable.

Every thing is fresh in this order especially the chicken pieces, neat and big cut pieces. You know the meat is fresh through the bite....soft smooth and well seasoned. Well, definitely delicious. The cooking is well done and perfect. A prize winner!!!!

I noticed the mushroom in the menu picture was absent in my (A La Carte) Mixed Broccoli dish😊😊😊 Fantastic! (Set) Kung Pao Meat Rice Delicious. Aromatic, a little spicy and very good mix of carrot, onion, dried chillies and onion leaves slices. The bite of the meat and rice resulted in nice way to chew the food to bring out the aroma. There should be a aluminum foil cover before the cover like the Thai food type of package to avoid the gravy spilling over the rice and cover. The ultimate result is in the taste... DELICIOUS.... and keep on eating and eating just to finish all at one go !!! 😀😀😀👍👍👍

Met my request of no salt. The ginger onion chicken was good with full of ginger flavor. One feedback is if the chicken could be in a more smaller pieces in size then will be great. In this way, it looks more refined and palatable. The downside was the meal reached me very late more two hours after my prearranged time.

(A La Carte) Sweet and Sour Meat After praising so many days of home taste food. Today's sweet and sour meat is a let down in taste. The meat is not properly fried well and taste powdery. Normally economy rice shop does very well in sweet and sour meat. The sweet and sour gravy is so watery and taste more on vinegar. Perhaps, pardon me if I am a staunch eater of sweet and sour meat and can give comment better. the mixed vegetables of freshly cut combination of cucumber, onion and tomato are crunchy and good. Overall, when the food is being ordered and especially unable to go out during MCO, apa pun BOLEH and okay lah!!!!

(A La Carte) Sweet and Sour Meat 1Date:06 May 2020 (Wed) 2nd Time order Although it was a good dish especially the "cut" vegetables of onion, cucumber and tomato with the "floured" chicken pieces. Sweet and sour chicken or meat has ALWAYS been my favourite dish since young. You can get this dish anywhere and you can tell the difference in the taste and the way it was cooked between a qualified chef and an amateur. Although the taste is good and delicious overall, I look forward to better fried chicken pieces again. Like I say, no matter how you cook it, sweet & sour meat is my favourite ......and a favourite remains a favourite...no matter who cooks it !!!!!

I said this because the succulent, extremely delicious and aromatic meat was cooked with extreme care and detail as to the freshness, cooking temperature, gravy and the taste, etc etc The meat is well cut and of reasonable size. I think the only size that is big in all the dishes (except wine chicken) in HOMETASTE. This time, the box is without Hometaste paper wrapper. Wonder why?
